# Obsidian Flavored Markdown
Obsidian extends CommonMark/GFM with wikilinks, embeds, callouts, properties, and comments. This skill covers those extensions (standard Markdown is assumed).
## Workflow
1. Add frontmatter properties at the top (`title`, `tags`, `aliases`, `cssclasses`).
2. Write content in standard Markdown plus Obsidian syntax.
3. Link notes with wikilinks - `[[Note]]`, `[[Note|Display]]`, `[[Note#Heading]]`, `[[Note#^block-id]]` - and use plain `[text](url)` only for external URLs.
4. Embed content by prefixing a wikilink with `!` - `![[Note]]`, `![[image.png|300]]`, `![[doc.pdf#page=3]]`.
5. Add callouts with `> [!type]` (note, tip, warning, etc.; `-`/`+` for foldable).
6. Use highlights (`==text==`), comments (`%%hidden%%`), tags (`#nested/tag`), LaTeX math (`$...$`, `$$...$$`), Mermaid diagrams, and footnotes; verify rendering in reading view.
