# demo-day-materials
This is the accelerator-showcase variant only: the one-minute compression format, never general slide or deck design. Investors at a demo day sit through a hundred-plus pitches, and recall is decided by whether one number and one sentence survive. The classic failure is the **buried lead** - "...and we're at $50k MRR" delivered as the closer - which forces the audience to evaluate every claim without evidence and then forget the evidence too. This skill fronts the number and cuts everything that competes with it.
## Operating procedure
Run the steps in order. The lead metric is chosen before any writing because the first 15 words determine whether the remaining 50 seconds get attention; the slide comes after the script because the slide is the script's one surviving artifact; the fallback ladder comes last because it protects a finished demo.
### Step 1: Gather the inputs
Elicit exactly these before writing a word. If any input is a guess, label it a guess and move on - and a guessed metric may never lead.
1. **Charter**: Paste the charter block if one exists. If the client has a charter but the foundations pack is not installed, elicit the needed values directly and label them provisional. If no charter exists at all, halt and route to premium-design-foundations - never substitute worked-example values. The logo mark on the slide inherits from it.
2. **Traction metrics**, every one, each with its timeframe. Ask for the measurement source; unverifiable numbers are flagged and disqualified from leading.
3. The **one-sentence** what-we-do.
4. **Team credibility** facts - shipped systems, domain history, not titles.
5. **Market-size basis** - the source behind the number, or a flag that none exists.
6. The **ask** - what the team wants from the room.
7. **Venue reality**: is a live demo physically possible on stage, and on whose network.
