# Conflict Resolution
Most workplace conflict is solvable when people move from positions ("I want X") to
interests ("I want X because I need Y"). This skill combines Nonviolent Communication
(NVC) with interest-based negotiation.
## Prepare your mindset
- Assume good intent — most conflict comes from unmet needs, not malice.
- Separate the **person** from the **problem**. You're on the same side against the issue.
- Aim for understanding before agreement. People resist being fixed; they open up when heard.
## The NVC frame (for expressing yourself)
Speak in four parts, without blame:
