The Skill Me connector

Skill Me is a catalog of agent skills (SKILL.md instruction sets) plus your own saved library. The connector lets Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor, and other MCP clients search the catalog, install skills into your library, and read them back when you ask to use one.

Set up

  1. Add a custom connector (remote MCP server) with this URL: https://skillme.dev/api/mcp
  2. On the authorization page, sign in to sync your library with the website, or continue without an account.
  3. Ask for a skill in plain language, for example one of the prompts below.

Client-by-client instructions (Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor) are on the connect page.

Example prompts

“Search Skill Me for a skill that writes brand guidelines.”

browse_skills

A short list of matching catalog skills with descriptions and ids.

“Which Skill Me skills would help me plan a zero-downtime database migration?”

recommend_skills

Ranked skills and a best-fit pack, each with a one-line reason. Nothing is installed until you choose.

“Install the Engineering Workflow pack from Skill Me.”

install_pack

The pack’s skills are saved to your library, and their instructions are returned.

“Use my Skill Me brand-guidelines skill to draft a voice and tone section for our app.”

get_active_skills → load_skill

Claude reads the skill from your library, then follows it for the draft.

“What’s in my Skill Me library? Remove anything I haven’t used.”

list_installed → uninstall_skill

Your saved skills, then the ones you confirm are removed.

Data and privacy

The connector never reads your conversations, files, or memory; it only receives the arguments of the tool calls your client makes. See the privacy policy for what is stored and which service providers process it.
