# Jira & Confluence MCP (Atlassian)
Atlassian's **official remote** MCP server ("Rovo"). It securely connects Jira and Confluence to Claude so you can search and read issues, create and update them, comment, and work with Confluence pages — all scoped to your Atlassian permissions.
## Connect (hosted remote, OAuth)
The server is hosted by Atlassian at `https://mcp.atlassian.com/v1/sse` and authenticates with your Atlassian account via OAuth — no local install or API token to manage. Follow Atlassian's one-click setup for Claude (support.atlassian.com → Atlassian Remote MCP Server → Getting started).
## Notes
- Cloud only. For self-hosted Jira/Confluence Data Center, use a community MCP that targets the Data Center REST API instead.
- Access is bounded by the signed-in user's existing Jira/Confluence permissions.
## Pairs well with
- **Jira Ticket Writer** — draft well-formed issues, then file them through this connector.
