Build and maintain a persistent, interlinked markdown wiki of a codebase in .llm-wiki/ - capturing architecture, modules, patterns, and APIs, with full-build and incremental update modes.

name: llm-wiki
description: Build and maintain a structured LLM-generated wiki for any codebase. Use to analyze/understand/document a codebase, create project docs from source, or update an existing .llm-wiki.
---
Builds a persistent, interlinked markdown wiki in `.llm-wiki/` that compounds over time (based on Karpathy's LLM Wiki pattern).
## Workflow
1. Detect mode: no `.llm-wiki/` means Full Build; an existing one means Update (diff and refresh).
2. Phase 1 reconnaissance: read top-level manifests (README, package.json, Cargo.toml, etc.), map the tree (ignoring node_modules/.git/dist), and identify languages, frameworks, build system, entry points, and CLAUDE.md/AGENTS.md context.
3. Phase 2 skeleton: create `.llm-wiki/` with `_schema.md` (conventions/metadata), `_index.md` (catalog by category), and `_log.md` (changelog).
4. Fill in interlinked pages for architecture, modules, patterns, and APIs; the human curates and directs while the LLM handles bookkeeping and keeps the wiki updated.
